He is survived by: his wife Rosalinda Olivarez Barrera; his children, Francisco Barrera III of Uvalde, Eloy (Lorena Barrera) of Uvalde, Alonzo Barrera of Uvalde, Bobby Joe (Jennifer Barrera) of Uvalde, Billy Joe Barrera of Uvalde, Harley Leal of Uvalde, Sandra (Gilbert Barrera) of Uvalde, Haylie Leal of Uvalde, Selena Barrera of Uvalde and Elvira Rangel (Jose Sotelo) of Beeville; and his brothers, Antonio Barrera Sr. of Hereford and Fortino Garza of Hereford. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren 25 great grandchildren.
