He was predeceased by: his parents, Dolores Guedea (Sombrano) and Cecilio Guedea; and his daughter-in-law Laurentina Guedea. He is survived by: his wife Lidia Prado of Uvalde; his children, Eugenio Joel Guedea, Jr. of Uvalde, Elmer Guedea of Uvalde, Guillermo Guedea (Lucia) of Uvalde, Martha Velasquez (Richard) of Uvalde and Alexandra Sotelo (Raul) of Uvalde; and his sister Alicia Ramos of Batesville. He is also survived by 34 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary (220 S Getty St, Uvalde, TX 78801). A rosary was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (408 Fort Clark Rd, Uvalde, TX 78801). A graveside service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Hillcrest Cemetery (1300 W Main St, Uvalde, TX 78801). A burial was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
