He was predeceased by: his parents, Leila Jo (Copple) and Herman Welch; and his sister-in-law Laura Welch. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Johnson; his daughter Krista Gail Welch; his granddaughters, Katelyn Nicole Faglie and Bethany Ann Faglie; and his brothers, Freddy Ray Welch, Gary Don Welch (Alma) and Billy Mack Welch (Shirley). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary (220 S Getty St, Uvalde, TX 78801). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Vance Cemetery (1210 W Main St, Uvalde, TX 78801).
