It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Aurelio V. Mata Sr. (Uvalde, Texas), who passed away on September 7, 2018, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his daughter Esmeralda Mata; and his siblings, Juan Mata, Martin Mata, Margarita Chacon and Carmen Garza.
He is survived by: his spouse Guadalupe Lira; his children, Brenda Hidalgo (Daniel) of San Antonio, Criselda Vasquez (Mario) of Uvalde, Aurelio V. Mata, Jr. of Austin, Jeremy Andrew Mata and Sydney Orona of San Marcos; his siblings, Dora Sanchez of Uvalde, Dolores Cuellar of Humble and Inez Mata of Uvalde; and his grandchildren, Philip M. Vasquez, Aaron N. Vasquez, Amanda Hidalgo and Alejandro I. Mata. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
