He was predeceased by: his parents, Milburn Ray and Gloria Von McDonald Vernor of Camp Wood; his brother Robert Ray Vernor; his grandparents, Clarence Ross, Gladys Winifred Hubble Vernor of Camp Wood, Herbert L. and Leora Modell Little McDonald of Montell; his great-grandparent Zelma Lillian Cottle Little of Camp Wood; and his uncles, Keno Vernor, Ed Vernor, Doyle Vernor, Carroll Vernor and Delbert McDonald.
He is survived by: his daughters, Laramie Ann Vernor of College Station and Lexie Sage Vernor of Hondo; his sisters, Brenda Vernor Cable (Chris Cable) of Montell and Bonny Vernor Herndon of Uvalde; his nieces and nephews, Jesse Jerome Baxter of Montell, Cody McCurdy Esser of Parker, Mistie Herndon Kocurek of Bandera, Victoria Herndon Dühring of Uvalde, George Ray Herndon of Uvalde and Marjorie Herndon Krause of Addison, Illinois; his aunts, Sue Vernor Pryse, Ivie Vernor and Bea Vernor; and his uncle Wayne McDonald. He is also survived by numerous great-nephews, great-nieces and cousins.
Viewing was held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Nelson Funeral Chapel - Camp Wood (310 Nueces St, Camp Wood, TX 78833). A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 23rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the House of Praise State Highway. A graveside service was held on Sunday, March 23rd 2025 at the Memories Cemetery.
