She was predeceased by: her parents, Isabel Rivera (Sanchez) and Faustino Rivera; her husband Francisco Hernandez; and her siblings, Modesto Rivera, Aurelio Rivera, Luis Rivera, Miguel Rivera and Francisca Rivera.
She is survived by: her children, Maria Perez (Jaime), Mercedes Salas (Mauricio) of Uvalde and Gaspar Hernandez of Brownsville; her brother Francisco Rivera of Piedras Negras, Mexico; her grandchildren, Roy Sotelo, IV, Catalina Sotelo, Francisco Perez and Jaime Perez; and her great grandchild Luna Marie Perez. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
