He was predeceased by: his parents, Cayetana Avila (Arellano) and Tomas Avila; his brother Ramon Avila; and his brother-in-law Rogelio Nunez. He is survived by: his spouse Guadalupe Gamez; his sons, Alfredo Avila, Jr. (Lee Ann Carrasco) of Uvalde, Emmanuel Avila (Chelsea Soto) of Pflugerville and Daniel Avila (Maria Guerrero Avila) of Uvalde; and his siblings, Esther Nunez of Piedras Negras, Maria Elena Avila Negrete (Francisco) of Eagle Pass, Texas, Gabriel Avila (Rita) of Piedras Negras, Javier Avila (Norma) of Piedras Negras, Samuel Avila (Guadalupe) of Uvalde, Tomas Avila (Marilu) of Uvalde, Guadalupe Avila (Yolanda) of Piedras Negras, Mexico and Raul Avila (Maria Eugenia) of Piedras Negras, Mexico. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary (220 S Getty St, Uvalde, TX 78801). A rosary was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (408 Fort Clark Rd, Uvalde, TX 78801).
