He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Juan G. Vijil and Eloisa Esparza Vijil; his spouse Isidora A. Vijil; his children, Porfirio E. Vijil Jr. (Laura), Ricardo A. Vijil (Diana Vijil) and Karen V. Martinez (Reuben Martinez); and his grandchildren, Porfirio E. Vijil III, Joshua, Ricardo, Esteban, Isabel, Marissa, Lauren and Lindsey. He was also cherished by 15 children.
