He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Smoot and Gladys Smoot; and his siblings, Johnnie May Williams and Phillip Smoot. He is survived by: his wife Carol Pipes Smoot; his children, Erin Smoot of San Antonio and Randy Smoot (Cynthia); his grandson Jackson Smoot of Dallas; and his siblings, June England (W. S.) of Comfort, Norman Smoot and Max Smoot (Sandra) of San Antonio.
