He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe D. Whitson, Sr. and Martha H. Whitson; and his brother Joseph David Whitson, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Stephanie Lawrence Whitson; his children, Shea Whitson of Memphis, TN, Nathan Whitson of Universal City and Macie Whitson of Universal City; his brother Terry Whitson; and also Cynthia Whitson. He is also survived by numerous cousins nieces, nephews, and relatives.
