He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Doroteo and Inez Saenz; his parents, Francisco Matanane and Estefana Matanane; and his brothers, Jesus Saenz and Frank Matanane.
He is survived by: his wife Janie; his children, Victor S. Sosa, Isabel Torres and Joleen Velazquez (Enrique); his siblings, Estefana A. Franco, Estella F. Muñoz (Jose), Elizabeth M. Shaw (William), Gerard S. Matanane and Rosa M. Thomas (Shane); and his cousin Candelaria Garza. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twenty great- grandchildren.
