She was predeceased by: her parents, Madoline Shumate and James Clyde Shumate; her husband Dr. Tom Fernandez; her daughter Molly Sumrow; and her granddaughter Emily Mays.
She is survived by: her niece Cynthia Branch; her daughters, Anne Hagan (Grady), Vivian Mays (Ron), Liz Zales (Jim) and Amy Moser (Evan); her stepdaughters, Erin Wiggins, Lisa Fortendery, Stacia Fernandez and Gina Allgood; her grandchildren, Mark (Edie), Lance (Jody), Seth Moser (Melinda), Craig Moser, Logan Moser (Mary), Sarah Mays, Courtney Graves and Amanda Harris; and her caregivers, Barbara, Ally, Alma, Margarita and Victoria. She is also survived by 8 step-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lloyd James Funeral Home (1011 E 1st St, Tyler, TX 75701).
