Michael Clay Carsten Obituary

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Michael Clay Carsten born in Tyler, Texas on December 11, 1949. Mike passed away at home in Tyler on February 14, 2025, at the age of 75. Except for his service in the U.S. Army at Ft. Hood, Texas he lived in Tyler all his life. He was preceded in death by his father Henry Hooper Carsten, mother Vista Vera Carsten (nee Cook), siter Mary Jo Carsten, and brother Tyrone Carsten. He is survived by his wife Melissa Riley; children Chris Carsten (wife April), Amy Dumas (husband Gary); grandchildren Christopher and Caylie Carsten; brothers Don and Henry (wife Deanna); sisters Vera Sellers (husband Steve), Catherine Gilbert, Susan Lovett; and stepchilden Brayden and Taylour Riley.

Mike will be remembered for loving his Chihuahua dogs and fishing any time he could get to the lake.

No date has been set for his celebration of life. There will be no interment as he wished his body to be cremated.
