He was predeceased by: his parents, Doris McAuliffe Carter and Kenneth E. "Nick" Carter, Sr.; and his sister Camille Staples (Bill). He is survived by: his wife Mary Alice "Freddie" Carter; his children, Dr. Kathryn Allyson Carter and Kenneth E. "Buddy" Carter, III (Lori McAmis Carter); his grandsons, Joshua (DeenaRae), Samuel (Haley) and Benjamin (Kait); his great grandchildren, Noah, Grae, Myles, Eli, Wade and Charlie; and his nieces and nephews, Vickie Hoppensteadt (Walt), Karen Buell (Carter), Kim DuBose, Chuck Frederick (Elaine) and Mike Frederick (Theresa).
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Holly Tree Cemetery (1620 S Farm To Market Rd 2869, Hawkins, TX 75765). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Green Acres Baptist Church (1607 Troup Hwy, Tyler, TX 75701). A reception will be held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
