She was predeceased by: her parents, Dean Carpenter and Christine Carpenter; and her brother Bill Dean Carpenter. She is survived by: her husband Denny Murphy; her children, Erin Burkart (Tom), Joe Murphy (Casey) and Juli Collins (Stephen); and her grandchildren, Samantha, Charlie Burkart, Ryan, Alex Collins, Dean and Cora Murphy.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Hideaway Country Club. A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chicota First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Kay's honor can be made to Meals on Wheels East Texas or Hospice of East Texas.
