She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Henry Hugh and Rachel McDonald Battle; her former husband Willis Thurman; her spouse Lesley M. Delaney; her siblings, Rosa Dennis, Mamie Neely, Beatrice Sneed, Rev. Mordecai Battle, Venora Smith, Novella Morris, Haron Battle, Rev. Herman Battle, Alvin Battle, Rev. Joseph Battle, Cornelius Battle, Dorothy Battle and Oweda Powdrill-King; and her son-in-law Anthony Monday.
She is survived by: her daughter Rachel Thurman Monday; her grandchildren, Raushanah Monday and Jeremy Monday; her great grandchild Jazlyn; and her brother-in-law Clement King.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the St. Peter's Baptist Church (2708 S Laurent St, Victoria, TX 77901). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
