It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gloria J Porter (Tyler, Texas), who passed away on January 2, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Gloria leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Porter and Essie Porter. She is survived by: her brothers, Terry Porter of Tyler and William R Porter of Tyler; her aunt Helen Clark Slater (Jack) of Fort Worth, Texas; and also JaQuan Jones of Tyler. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the John R. Harmon Undertaking Company (1112 N Palace Ave, Tyler, TX 75702). A graveside service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Louis Cemetery. A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the College Hill Baptist Church (1314 W Houston St, Tyler, TX 75702).
