He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Lee Smith and Mary Ruth Braden. He is survived by: his wife Betty J. Smith; his sister Betty Smith; his sons, Randy L. Smith (Mary) of Bullard, Mark W. Smith (Janice) of Tyler, TX and Gary L. Smith of Tyler, TX; and his grandchildren, Sean Smith, Marla Germany, Amanda Blundell, Wesley Smith, Justin Smith and Kelsey Gray. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
