It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bettye Lea Shepherd of Tyler, Texas, who passed away on December 19, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the quiet moments of reflection, amidst the gentle rustle of leaves and the whispered song of the stars, we shall carry Bettye Lea's memory with us, a guiding light illuminating the path ahead. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Lehman Robertson and Minnie Ella Haynes; her husband Samuel Tillman "Melton" Shepherd; and her son Steven Lynn Shepherd. She is survived by: her sons, Kenneth Shepherd (Liz) and Melton "Bear" Shepherd (Marty); and her daughter-in-law Catherine Shepherd. She is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandsons, seven step-grandchildren, and sixteen step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Shiloh Road Church of Christ (1801 Shiloh Rd, Tyler, TX 75703). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at the Hamilton Beeman Cemetery (Corsicana, TX 75711).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Road Church of Christ in Tyler.
