We bid farewell to Mitsu Austermann of Tye, Texas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 30, 2025 at the age of 82. Mitsu touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Shizuko Shimabukuro and Tsuryo Shimabukuro; her brother Takeshi Shimabukuro; her former husband Melvin Ray Taylor; her husband Leroy Austermann; her brother-in-law W. E. "Lucky" Taylor (Stella Taylor); her stepson Jimmy Taylor; her stepgrandson Aaron Taylor; and her stepson Frankie Austermann.
She is survived by: her son Douglas Taylor (Michelle) of Lubbock; her granddaughter Madison Crenshaw (Kaleb); her great grandchildren, Kace and Breckin of Post; her granddaughter Sydney Widder (Zach); her great grandchild Jagger of Lubbock; her stepson Mike Taylor (Donna) of Abbeville; her stepgrandchildren, Dana Young, Misty Taylor, Michael Taylor Jr. and Cody Hebert; and her stepchildren, Keith Austermann (Christy) of Fredericksburg, Dana West (Sonny) of Haskell and Sharon Gross (John) of Oregon. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel (1022 N 2nd St, Merkel, TX 79536).
