With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lisa Garza of Tulia, Texas, born in Alamo, Texas, who passed away on September 30, 2022 at the age of 80. She was predeceased by: her parents, Epitacio Zarate and Maria Ursula Olivarez; her sons, Edward Garza and Angel Garza; and her grandson Richard "Richie" Castellon.

She is survived by: her significant other David Garza, Sr. of Tulia; her children, Joe Garza (Nelda) of Tulia, Luis Garza (Christina) of Amarillo, Ruben Garza of Amarillo, David Garza, Jr. of Tulia and Sara Castellon (Val) of Amarillo; and her siblings, Manuel Zarate of Mexico, Luisa Godinez of Oregon, Angel Olivarez of Oregon and Christina Sundstrom of Oregon. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 200+ Godchildren, and many more grandchildren.

She was a member of the RSVP and was nominated for Woman of the Year.
