She was predeceased by: her parents, Arvin Thomason and Myrtle Thomason; her husband Delbert Newman; and her brothers, Arvin Thomason, Charles Thomason and Frank Thomason.
She is survived by: her children, Paula Atkinson of Plainview, Ren Bradford of Plainview and Kerry Bradford of Plainview; her stepdaughter Traci Lewis of Midland; and her grandchildren, Casey Davis, Tiffany Bradford, Jennifer Herrera and Christi Shaddix-Perkins. She is also survived by many great grandchildren and many great, great grandchildren.
