He was predeceased by: his parents, John Vester Whitten and Ruby Lela Whitten (Hancock); and his brother Jon Ray Whitten. He is survived by: his wife Twila Joyce Whitten of Tulia; his children, Tad Whitten (Beth) of Liberty Hill, TX, Shelby, Gracie, Toy Cogdell (Rank) of Silverton, TX, Rowdy and Riley; his sister Jo Evelyn Anderson; and his brother-in-law Gary Don Haught. He is also survived by six nephews and 3 nieces.
