We bid farewell to Mildred Elisabeth Burns in Troy, Texas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 15, 2024 at the age of 95. Mildred Elisabeth touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thorkel Helgesen and Andrea Helgesen; her husband James C. Burns, Jr.; her son James C. Burns, III; and her siblings, Thorkel G. Helgesen, Andrew Helgesen and Thelma Tobiassen.
She is survived by: her children, Andrea E. Hamling (Craig), Daniel A. Burns (Susan), Janet D. Flood (John), Alice M. Sobiech (Leon) and Timothy H. Burns (Tracey). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (95 Kings Hwy, Warwick, NY 10990). A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at the Warwick Cemetery.
