It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Janice Jackson of Troy, Texas, who passed away on April 15, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, Martha Janice shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Martha Janice farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Owen Drake and Vivian Drake (Hedgepath); and her brother Jerry Drake. She is survived by: her husband Wilbur Curtis Jackson (Hamilton); her daughter Brenda Shrum (James "Red" Shrum); and her brother Bobby Drake. She is also survived by two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home (3110 Airport Rd, Temple, TX 76504). A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
