He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover VanDyke and Erma Thornton VanDyke; his brother Charles; his sister-in-law Kathy VanDyke; and his nephews, David, Danny and Duane VanDyke.

He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Svoboda VanDyke of Trinity, TX; his children, Jody (Jeana VanDyke) and Brenda VanDyke of Trinity, TX.; his grandchildren, Bailey (Dillon Bilderback), Nate VanDyke (Bailey) and Brady (Olivia Bauer); his great grandchildren, Conlee Kay, Joe Rocker VanDyke and Boone Ray Bilderback; his sister Nelda Reynolds of Tomball, TX; and his brother-in-law Greg (Margaret Svoboda).

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Waller-Thornton Funeral Home - Trinity (203 San Jacinto St, Trinity, TX 75862). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
