He was predeceased by: his wife Carmen Lydia Rivera Mercado. He is survived by: his children, Gilbert Mercado (Irmarie Mercado) of Del Rio, Daniel Mercado (Leslie Mercado) of Jackson, MS and Evelyn Velez of Orlando, FL; his grandchildren, Gilberto Antonio, Melissa, Brittany, Gabriel, Emily, Christian, Aislynn, Andres, Victoria, Ashley, Micael and Kamila; and his great grandchildren, Daniel, David, Adalynn, Anthony, Ansley and Brynlee.
In lieu of flowers, the Mercado Family would appreciate donations made payable to Val Verde Hospice.
