He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Matlock (Morrison) and Boyd Matlock; his wife Martha "Dale" Bowen; his daughters, Melissa Matlock and Zhanell Burch; and his siblings, Paul Matlock and Melinda Ladd.
He is survived by: his children, Sheila Irwin (Randy) of Brazoria, Teresa Sterling of Thompson Station, Tennessee and Franklin "Woody" Matlock of Trinity; and his siblings, Margaret Sincher of La Porte and Ricky Baker of La Porte. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
