He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Porter and Thelma Porter Davis; his sons, Shawn Porter and Michael Edward "Mike" Porter; and his granddaughter Nicole Regel.
He is survived by: his wife Emogene Porter of Trinity; his children, David Porter (Susan) of Bridge City, Linda Frederick (Charles) of Orange and Lisa Gonzales (Mike) of Mauriceville; his siblings, George Porter of Greenup, Malcom Davis of Columbus, Ohio, Roger Davis of Columbus, Ohio and Karen Appleton of Sandusky, Ohio; and his grandchildren, Melissa Dreyer, Henry Gonzales, Lauren Whipkey, Cierra Perry and Michelle Prosperie. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
