He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Schmitten of Tomball; his children, Phil Schmitten, Jr. (Chrystal) of Highland Ranch, CO, Christopher Schmitten (Kimberly) of East Lansing, MI, John Matthew Schmitten of Goose Creek, SC and Kristy Madsen (Jason) of Derby, KS; his grandchildren, Luke Schmitten of Highlands Ranch, CO, Joe Schmitten of Highlands Ranch, CO, Charleigh Schmitten of East Lansing, MI, Coraline Schmitten of East Lansing, MI and Jason Madsen Jr.; his great grandchildren, Michael and Grayson Madsen; his siblings, Mary C. Anderton of Fair Hope, AL, Christopher Cook and Steven Gatlin (Laurie) of Dallas; his mother-in-law Annie Hill of Groveton; his caregiver Lee Graham; and his sisters-in-law, Beth Hill Turner and Loretta Hill Floyd. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home (700 E Houston Ave, Crockett, TX 75835). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
