He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Roese and Sophie Meyer Roese Sr.; his wife Theresa Roese (Zientek); and his siblings, Gladys Roese, Hortense Newman, Walter Roese, Melvin Roese and Herman Roese Jr..
He is survived by: his nieces, Sherry Callanan and Betty Becker; and his nephew Mike Roese. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
