He was predeceased by: his father James Avery; his grandmother Jean Avery; his mother Nina Porterfield; and his brother David Avery. He is survived by: his wife Loretta Avery; his children, Parker Thompson (Jason), Crystal Ramsey (Kyle), Michael Avery (Jessica) and Dustin Avery (Stephanie); and his siblings, Steve Avery and Denean Avery. He is also survived by 18 grandkids; 1 godson; 1 goddaughter.
