He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Powers and Ruth Allred Powers; his son Patrick Jason Powers; his brothers, Max and Ray Powers; his brother-in-law Johnny Renfro; and his parents-in-law, Ossie and Helen Hudson.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his son Justin (Kristin) of Martinsville; his daughter-in-law Shanna Powers of Lufkin; his grandchildren, Rexanna DeGruy (Dylan) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Haylon Powers of Diboll and Morgan Powers of College Station; his brother Bill Powers (Joan) of Jupiter; and his sisters-in-law, Louise Renfro of Timpson and Marita Powers of Lufkin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
