She was predeceased by: her parents, James Sterman and Clio Johnson Hooper; her former husband James L. Beckham; her husband Oneil Crawford; her son-in-law Vance Payne; and her grandson Corey Crawford.
She is survived by: her children, Billie Sue Beckham Payne, Michael, Glenda Crawford, Jim and Annette Crawford; and her grandchildren, Rob (Kim Payne), Angela (Kevin Walker), Josh (Lacie Payne), Coby (Fran Crawford), Emily (Stephen Rodriquez), Makenzie (Clent Wyatt) and Alayna (Miguel Thames).
Gwen made the decision to donate her body to science in the late 1980's.
