He was predeceased by: his parents, Estelle Whitfield and Floyd Whitfield; his wife Barbara Whitfield (Mitchell); and his siblings, Dean, Wesley, Billy Whitfield, Jennie Whitfield and Zelma Alvie.
He is survived by: his sons, Glen Whitfield (Kena) of Throckmorton and Frank Whitfield of Throckmorton; and his siblings, Flonelle Pritchard (Bill) of Hobbs, NM, Frankie Whitfield (Minerva) of Throckmorton, James Whitfield (Laquita) of Midlothian and Horace Whitfield (Frankie Loretta) of Michigan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
