He was predeceased by: his parents, Josephine Jones and Auburn Higgins Sr.; his brother Auburn Higgins Jr.; and his son Peter Monarth (Jimmie Black). He is survived by: his wife Klara Higgins of Texas City, Texas; his daughter Georgia Stovich of Texas City, Texas; and his grandchildren, Veronica "Ronnie" Stovich (Corbin Mason) of Nacogdoches and Adam Stovich (Gloryannah) of San Diego.
