She was predeceased by: her parents, Worley Jernigan and Dorothy Jernigan; her sister Lynn Burt; and her close friend Barbara Green. She is survived by: her husband Jose D. Torres; her sons, Dean Torres (Palmi) of Cypress and James Torres (Amy) of Texas City, Texas.; and her great grandchildren, Taylor Torres, Ryan Torres, Alyssa Torres, Brayden Torres, Avery Torres, Leo and Luca Torres. She is also survived by many nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of her love of reading, memorials may be dedicated to Moore Memorial Library in Texas City, Texas.
