He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Irma, Nicholas Owens, Jr., Hazel and Marcella Pete. He is survived by: his parents, Mary Pete and Joseph, Sr. Pete; his grandfather Lawerence Teal; his wife Omega Woods-Pete; his children, Christina Pete, Irma Pete, Christopher Joseph Pete, Jr., Christian Joseph Pete and Da'quaylon Blackwell; his grandchildren, Ervell Brown, III of Beaumont and Amaria Lewis of Beaumont; and his close friend Brexton Sams. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and relatives and friends.
