With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Tommy R. Shields of Terrell, Texas, who passed away on October 19, 2023 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clyde D. Shields and Anita Gaston Shields; his son Scott Shields; his siblings, Betty Le Blanc and Kenneth Shields; his stepchildren, Randy Hall and Debra Foreman; his daughter-in-law Vickie L. Hall; his wife Sandy Shields of Terrell; his son Casey Shields (Jenny) of Wylie; his stepson Jeffrey Hall (Debra) of Forney; his grandchildren, Ava, Aiden Shields, Rebecca Hallman (Tim), Jacob Hall, Elizabeth Hall and Nikki Foreman; and his son-in-law Charles Foreman of Forney.

His family would greatly appreciate that instead of flowers, card, notes and memories be shared instead of Tommy so that they can always have a keepsake of how Tommy made other's lives brighter.

“Tommy wasn't just our neighbor, he was a dad. He was helpful, creative, and funny. He & Dan would work and piddle in the shop and I could hear them laugh and talk from the backyard as I planted and weeded. Tommy would make his way to the yard, poke his nose into whatever I was doing, make some comment and we'd laugh. Then he'd find a chair around the fire pit to hold and love on the cats. He might spend an hour loving the cats and critiquing my yard work. Those are the times I'm going to miss.”
