It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Lee Schaefer of Temple, Texas, born in New Braunfels, Texas, who passed away on January 30, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Curt Schaefer and Gean Schaefer (Kimmons); his brother Sean Howard Schaefer; and his grandson Jordan Lee Belvin. He is survived by: his wife Norma "Kitty" Schaefer; his children, Jennifer Martin, Stephanie Martin (Jimmie), Megan Schaefer Morrow (Jack) and Matthew Schaefer (Rachel); his grandchildren, Erin Flores, Hayden Belvin, Cooper Flores, Jackson Flores, Garrett Flores, Emilee Schaefer, Wyatt Martin, Noel Schaefer and Creedence Schaefer; his stepfather Elmer Butgereit; and his siblings, Glenda Wilkerson (Mike), Curt Schaefer (Marcy), Terry Schaefer (Gayla), Vickie Kivlin, Elmer (Bucky) and Butgereit (Shelly).
