He was predeceased by: his parents, George Beverly Townsend and Emma Pearl Townsend; and his siblings, Doris Nell Townsend-Meissner and Ronnie Dean Townsend. He is survived by: his wife Donna Townsend of Temple; his children, Bruce Townsend and Carrie Townsend of Waco; and his stepson Greg Cass of Austin. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
