She was predeceased by: her parents, David G. Anderson and Carrie M. Anderson; her husband Henry Brinkley; her siblings, John C. Taplin, Alvera Burkhawlter and Eliza L. Johnson; and her nephews, Jimmy Irving and Anthony Frazier.

She is survived by: her sons, Tony Anderson, Anthony Dargan, Dwight Dargan, Thomas Brinkley and Eric Brinkley; her sister Tommye Cunningham Malone; her grandchildren, Courtney Batch, Jasmaine Dargan, Alexis Dargan, Calum Anderson, Philana Anderson, Erin Brinkley, Keyon Brinkley, Marla McDill, Mynisha Johnson, Asia Morton and Mercedes Manham (Haynes); and her nieces and nephews, Anita Pelham, Michael Littlejohn, David Frazier and Terrell Johnson. She is also survived by great grandchildren.
