He was predeceased by: his parents, Encarnacion Gomez and Rebecca Gomez; his wife Maria Gomez; and his children, Maria Del Rosario and Sergio Gomez Sr..
He is survived by: his children, Anna Maria Aguilar of Temple, Lupita Santos of Laredo, Jose Manuel Gomez of Temple, Miguel Gomez Jr. of Laredo, Martin Gomez of Laredo and Juan Angel Gomez of Mexico; and his siblings, Jorge Gomez and Maria Gomez of Laredo. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren, and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
