He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Oscar Barefoot and Carolyn Barefoot (Nesler); his wife Janice Spacek of Temple; his daughters, Laura O'Donnell (Vince) of Clarksville, TN and Ella Scott (Jeremy) of Albuquerque, N. M.; his grandchildren, Ethan O'Donnell, Molly and Henry Neimela; his sister Lisa Chadwell (Mark) of College Station, TX; and also Carolyn Barefoot of Temple, TX. He was also cherished by several nieces and a nephew.
