He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Maahs and Leona Maahs (Gore); his stepmother Maye Maahs (Holmberg); his siblings, Betty Gant and Frank Maahs; and his granddaughter Whitney Balentine.
He is survived by: his wife Elinor Maahs (Brodd); his daughters, Paula Balentine and Lea Fuller; and his grandchildren, Kimberly Lockery, Toni Stodden (Richard), Berverly Nies (Tracy), Aaron Balentine (Rachel), Laura Fuller (Laural), Kaiti Moore (Daegon), Landon Fuller and Jennifer Bremer (Michael). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
