He was predeceased by: his wife Marjorie Coon; his son Lawrence Coon, Jr.; and his siblings, Shirley Coon, Louise Coon and Billy Coon (Billdock).
He is survived by: his sons, Mark H. Coon (Julie) of Wabash and Gary Carter of Glasgow, Kentucky; and his sisters, Marilyn Coon Hill (Fred) of Wabash, Doris May Coon Hirchey of Decature and Mary E. Coon Happel (Edward) of Springhill, Florida. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
