He was predeceased by: his parents, Apolonio Velasquez and Mary Velasquez (Floyd); his siblings, Paul Velasquez, Frankie Velasquez, Diana Garcia and Josephine Guajardo; and his son-in-law James Paine.
He is survived by: his children, Monica Haudek (Mike) of Temple, Laurinda Paine of Temple and Joseph Velasquez (Bridget) of Lake Worth, FL; his grandchildren, Devin Smith (Madeline) of Harker Heights, Brandon Haudek (Baylee) of Alamogordo, Derek Haudek of Temple, Andrew Paine (Venessa) of Temple, Laurin Canava (Jaime) of Temple, Jordan Velasquez (Jessica) of Hutto and Olivia Velasquez of Lake Worth, Florida; his great grandchildren, William Haudek, Serena Velasquez, Jackson Velasquez, Joshua Paine, Jaxsen Paine, Joseph Paine and Isabelle "Izzy" Paine; and his siblings, Martin Velasquez (Rosemary) of Amarillo, Betty Velasquez of Amarillo and Rosemary Samora (Paul) of Amarillo.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Point Christian Fellowship Church (514 N 3rd St, Temple, TX 76501).
In place of flowers, a donation box will be available at the service for a one-time, culminated donation to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
