He was predeceased by: his mother Georgia Bohac; and his brother Mike Holder. He is survived by: his father Elbert Holder; his wife Debra Holder of Temple; his children, James Holder Jr. of San Antonio and Jane Marie Gilpatrick of South Carolina; and his stepchildren, Dustin Smith of Brenham, Megan Smith of Temple and Rachel Stallings of Temple. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
