He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Britton Sr. and Mary Jewel Cagle (Purcell); and his son John Michael Cagle. He is survived by: his son Howard Britton "Britt" Cagle III; his brother Michael Cagle; his grandchildren, Briana Homerstad, Jessica Rinehart and Michael Cagle; his great grandchildren, Anne, Chris, Marshall and Olivia; and his cousins, Kim and Tamara.
