He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Smith and Julia Mae Brydson Smith; and his brother James A. Brydson. He is survived by: his wife Bonny Jackson Smith of Temple; his daughter Simone Jackson of Killeen; and his siblings, Richard D. Smith (Carol) of San Diego, Michael D. Smith (Stacy) of Temple, Loretta A. Smith of Nolanville, LaNell Smith of Austin, Jeanetta Smith-Peterson (Elrise), Sheila M. Smith-Correa of Temple and Cheryl Smith-Sczepanski of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
